I mourn for the Spaniards, because when I was there, they proved to be a good and kind hearted. And when they were bombed, it was heartbreaking because it brought these good people into this world chaos going on right now. I think that they should have postponed the elections to allow people to have caught their breath and mourned for a time. But bowing out of this particular world event allows men with an oppressive agenda and an outdated way of life to grin in victory. The western way of life is the better way. This has to be believed. Would you want to live in a world that women are covered, men must submit to leaders or be beaten and killed, and freedom of thought is squashed? Conformity breeds stagnation. Collateral damage happens in war, this is not intentional, but it is a reality. But to put bombs on trains or to slam 110- floor buildings with planes indiscriminately because they are "infidels" is a sin. I think Americans ultimately broke out in war...to show these people that they need not fear their leaders, and after they are given back their government, then maybe a democracy can spread, and they can join the rest of us in the 21st century. Where they can be an example to the citizens of other nations that are under the yoke of extreme theocracies and dictatorships everywhere.

Damn! Spain has given in to Al-Queda. The only thing that the Spanish elections has proved is that Al-Queda can influence elections in a Western Democracy.
